A disheartening video has captured the moment an Ondo state pastor and his wife confessed to squandering over N4 million donated by people for their ailing daughter’s surgery.
The parents disclosed this after they were invited for questioning at a police station, and it sparked massive reactions online.
In the video, Pastor revealed that he bought a N700k motorcycle, a N125k phone, and speakers for his church, lavishing the whooping sum of money contributed for his child’s surgery.
It appeared that the parents needed N2.5 million for the child, who is critically ill, and the kindhearted Nigerians raised over N4 million to the surgery and support.
The surgery was originally fixed for a date in Nov 2024, but unfortunately, the doctors at OAUTH (Ile-Ife) were on strike on the said day, and the surgery was postponed to January 16th, 2025.
However, the couple squandered the money that was contributed by Nigerians just within the space of two months.
Details confirmed that they were picked up by the police, and the bank statement of the account to which the money was paid was obtained by the authorities.
The bank statement revealed that the N5m donated by the public was not used for its intended purpose.
