Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has taken to social media to react as her colleague Funke Akindele cinematic creation Everybody Loves Jenifer hits over N1B.
Taking to her verified Instagram page today, December 30th 2024, Funke Akindele was seen celebrating with her cast as her movie Everybody Loves Jenifer now grossed a total of 1,034,091,220 in cinemas in Nigeria and Ghana.
In the post shared about 3hours ago, Funke Akindele gives thanks to her fans for watching her movie Everybody Loves Jenifer which is still showing in cinemas as they makes history again. Note that Funke Akindele broke the record of her own movie A Tribe Called Judah which was released in December 2023 and later grossed 1 billion in Box office.
However, just an hour after Funke Akindele celebrated grossing N1b, actress Toyin Abraham took to her Instagram page to update her fans on the progress of her cinematic creation “Alakada Bad and Boujee”.
Toyin Abraham maintains the fact that she is her own competition noting that she beats her previous record as her movie now grossed 205million in cinemas and still showing.
She wrote; “I have always said that beating my own record is the goal, and by God’s help, I have been able to achieve it. As of 10 days last year, I sold ₦105 million, but this year, we have sold ₦205 million as of yesterday. That is 95.24%. This is God. This is growth.
This is also love from fans and cinema attendants. Many people have tried to put down this work, but God, in His infinite mercy, has continued to show Himself as God. Thank you, Nigerians. Thank you, cinemas. Thank you, my fans. Thank you, Toyin Titans. Thank you to my distributor and my support system (you know yourselves).
I do not take your love and support for granted. Let’s go again this week! Alakada: Bad and Boujee is showing in cinemas nationwide. Let’s watch it and encourage others to see it too!”
