Veteran actors Kanayo O Kanayo and Fausat Balogun, often known as Madam Saje, will receive a “Lifetime Achievement” award At the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
The ceremony is scheduled for November 24 at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Seun Oloketuyi, the founder of the BON Awards announced this on Friday, stressing the importance of celebrating movie icons while they are still alive.
“Why must we wait until our movie heroes are no longer with us to honor them?
“Posthumous awards have their place, but it’s even more meaningful when they can receive them during their lifetime,” Oloketuyi remarked.
Oloketuyi also highlighted the contributions of Kanayo and Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje to the growth of Nollywood.
“Madam Saje and Kanayo are legends we grew up watching. They inspired the generation of actors we see today and have remained influential figures in the industry. That’s why they are our choices for this year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards,” he added.
Previous recipients of this prestigious award include veteran actors Toyin Adegbola, Madam Kofoand Adebayo Salami.
