Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has tragically lost his 15-year-old son Ifeanyi in the cold hand of death
Francis Duru, who mourned his little champ, took to his Instagram page as he shared beautiful photo of Ifeanyi, recounting their lovely memories together.
Captioning the photo, he penned his farewell tribute to his late son, stirring emotions from his industry peers, online family and followers. According to the 55-year-old movie star, Ifeanyi fought hard before taking his last breath.
He wrote, “My champ!!my lion…you fought like a lion…if this is the way He wants it ,so be it ,I still judge you faithful…Ifeanyi my champ….I will miss you son….I will forever love you….Rest in peace son…rest….I give you thanks lord!”
It is worth noting that Francis Duru is one of the prominent Nollywood actors in the entertainment space. Duru became more prominent in the Nigerian movie industry in 1995 after featuring in an action-comedy movie titled Rattle Snake, a movie produced by now deceased director; Amaka Igwe.He played a significant role in a character called Ahanna.
In 2007, he received the United Nations Ambassador of Peace award for his positive influence on the youths. Francis, in 2010, was appointed as interim president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and also in the same year was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Francis Duru and his wife Adokiye got married in 2003 and have four children together; two girls and two boys. Duru and Adokiye both attended the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
