Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Razak Olayiwola better known by his stage as Ojopagogo, has denied rumors that he asked his wife to give up acting.
Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV, the actor emphasized that his wife is still actively pursuing her career and even pointed out that she is rarely at home due to her work commitments.
He revealed that they have met at three different film locations this year, further proving that her career continues to grow.
Ojopagogo clarified that his wife was already a professional actress when they met, and he would never interfere with her passion for acting.
He stressed that her career has seen significant progress over time, and any rumors suggesting that he has restricted her professional pursuits are entirely false.
The actor also highlighted that their relationship is built on mutual understanding and respect for each other’s careers. He made it clear that he is not an authoritative husband, and they do not have a controlling dynamic. Rather, their partnership is one of support, where both individuals are free to follow their respective careers without interference.
He said: “My wife is still acting, and her career is growing. The level she was at last year is not the same as where she is now because she keeps growing. So how can anyone say that I stopped her from acting? This is a profession she was already pursuing before I even met her, so why would I ask her to quit just because we got married? I don’t dictate to my wife and don’t restrict her freedom. In fact, we’ve met at three different filming locations this year alone. Even my wife is not always at home because of the nature of our work.”
