A Nigerian man who was rescued from a suicide attempt faced further trauma when he was beaten up by bystanders shortly after being saved.

The incident was recorded in a viral video showing the man attempting to throw himself off a high bridge, but his effort was thwarted when a group of people spotted him and intervened to prevent the jump.

In the video, the man was seen alongside another individual on the bridge truss. While it seemed that the person had saved him, he was later seen throwing punches at him.

As he was pulled up from the bridge, he was met with various outbursts from the crowd that had gathered to witness the incident.
