Popular Nigerian music executive Adesope Olajide professionally known as Shopsydoo in an interview sparked mixed reactions online as he asserts that Wizkid paved the way for Davido and Burna Boy.
Speaking during the interview, Adesope said that Wizkid is the one who entered the Nigerian music industry with his talent and lots of star quality.
Backing up his point, Adesope Olajide stressed that Wizkid is the first young pop act in Africa to develop a young audience, just like the Justin Bieber-type of era.
The music executive noted that this development by Wizkid serves as a source of inspiration to Davido and everyone else who comes after in the music industry.
Adesope concluded that without Wizkid’s initial success, there would be no Davido, Burna Boy, or anyone else.
In his words; “Wizkid is the one who hit the scene with the first thing, which is talent, and a lot of star quality. Wizkid is the first young pop act in Africa to develop a young audience, just like the Justin Bieber-type of era. He came into the scene and inspired Davido and everybody else. Without Wizkid’s initial success, there would be no Davido, Burna Boy, or anybody else.”
