Award-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu Ebunoluwa, popularly known as Burna Boy has stirred up reactions online as he advised his colleagues to aim higher and source for international stardom instead of sticking to top Nigerian music charts.
According to Burna Boy, song being number 1 in Nigeria is not worth celebrating due to the money artists make from music streaming platforms.
He claimed that the monetary value of 1,000,000 streams in Nigeria is just $300\$400 while in the United States and United Kingdom, it is $3000\€4000.
The ‘Higher’ crooner, who took to his Instagram story, advised his colleagues to ‘wise up’ and not to let Nigerian social media polls and fans deceive them, stressing that they won’t fill up stadiums for artists in any part of the world.
