Popular singer Zlatan Ibile recently posted a throwback photo on his social media, sharing a heartfelt reflection on his humble beginnings from 10 years ago.
On his Instagram page, the singer reminisced about his journey over the past decade. He shared that ten years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile, as he aspired to be a professional footballer.
He credited the students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) for believing in him and helping him win the Airtel One Mic singing contest and his first car, which launched his music career.
His breakthrough came in 2017 with a collaboration with his senior colleague and YBNL boss Olamide. Zlatan expressed his gratitude to the MAPOLY students and his fans, reflecting on his disbelief at his ten-year journey in the music industry.
His words: “10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile. All there was, was an aspiring footballer. Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest! From then, everything changed from football to music. I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo. Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already… And we’re still going strong. ZTTW!”
